Tampa is where Action Air Conditioning started and where our trucks still roll every day. From historic bungalows in Seminole Heights to new construction in New Tampa, we have kept this city cool since 1988. We are family owned, the owners hold the qualifying licenses, and if you ever need one of them, you can reach one. We think of that as consumer protection.
Urban Tampa works cooling equipment hard. Dense neighborhoods hold heat well into the evening, summer storms hammer outdoor units, and humidity never really leaves. Our licensed technicians, license CAC042730, see it all daily and fix it right the first time.
Why do Tampa homes need a local AC company?
Because when the heat index tops 100, response time is everything. We have a saying here: you are only as good as the way you respond the last time. Our shop sits at 8926 N Armenia Ave, minutes from most Tampa neighborhoods, and same-day service is often available. You get upfront pricing before any work begins and a technician who has probably worked your street before.

Frequently Asked Questions
Tampa is where we started in 1988 and where our trucks still roll every day. We have kept this city cool for over three decades, from historic bungalows in Seminole Heights to new construction in New Tampa. We are family owned, the owners hold the qualifying licenses, and if you ever need one of them, you can reach one. We think of that as consumer protection.
If you want to know who will actually show up at your home, contact us and ask to meet one of the owners.
Dense neighborhoods hold heat well into the evening, summer storms hammer outdoor units, and humidity never really leaves. Urban Tampa works cooling equipment hard. Our licensed technicians see it all daily and fix it right the first time, because when you are minutes from most Tampa neighborhoods the way we are, you get called back if you cut corners.

Because when the heat index tops 100, you cannot wait three days for someone to show up. We have a saying here: you are only as good as the way you respond the last time. Our shop sits at 8926 N Armenia Ave, minutes from most Tampa neighborhoods, and same-day service is often available. You get a technician who has probably worked your street before.

Yes. Dave Russell and Chris Russell are both licensed Florida mechanical contractors, and they are personally the license qualifiers. Chris Russell is also a licensed plumbing contractor. Many AC companies are run by owners who do not hold the qualifying licenses themselves, which means they hire someone else to sign off on the work. Both of our owners can and do.
If that distinction matters to you, contact us and we will explain exactly what it means for your project.
You get upfront pricing before any work begins. We will not start a repair or an installation until you have agreed to the number. The most common objection we hear from customers is that they price-compared online without speaking to anyone and then felt burned. Our answer is to come see the showroom at 8926 N Armenia Ave or meet a comfort consultant in person.

If a system genuinely fails three real service calls in its first year, we replace the unit rather than keep repairing it. There is no lemon law for air conditioning, but that is how we handle it anyway. Our crews will also skip lunch to finish an install rather than leave a customer without air, and people are surprised by how thoroughly we clean up afterward.

We service all of Tampa, from Seminole Heights to New Tampa and Town 'N' Country. Our technicians have probably worked your street before. We also cover St. Pete, Clearwater, and Palm Harbor, anywhere within 50 miles of our shop.
If you are not sure whether we can reach you, contact us with your ZIP code and we will tell you.
No, and we are not the most expensive either. Our philosophy is five-star service at four-star pricing. If price is the only thing that matters, someone else will beat us. If you want the owners to hold the licenses, the technicians to be licensed under CAC042730, and the work done right the first time, we are worth the call.

We are a Florida licensed mechanical contractor, license CAC042730, and we also hold a Florida plumbing license, an electrical contracting license, and EPA refrigerant handling certification. We are a Lennox Premier Dealer and have held the Lennox Centennial Award, which puts us in the top 100 Lennox dealers in America, judged on customer satisfaction and complaint handling rather than purchase volume. We are BBB accredited and members of RACCA and CBUSA.
If you want to verify any of those credentials before we come out, contact us and we will walk you through them.
