Action Air Conditioning started in 1988 on a credit card, out of Dave Russell’s house, with his wife Susan answering the phone while holding their daughter. Dave sold the jobs, ran the service calls, and did the installs himself. Today his son Christopher runs the company day to day, and the plan is a third generation, not a corporate sale.

The trade behind the name goes back to 1974, through a lineage that includes a mentor who worked alongside a business partner of Willis Carrier, the inventor of modern air conditioning.
